Scope
This policy applies to our mobile apps, web services, and customer support channels (collectively, the “Services”). LivaMeal is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or prevention. Always consult a qualified professional for medical questions. LivaMeal is intended for general wellness and education.
Data we collect
- Account & Contact – name, email (for login and support). Passwords are hashed.
- Profile & Preferences – language, country/state/district, dietary choices (e.g., vegetarian), budget tier, activity level, and general meal preferences you provide.
- Optional Inputs (non-medical) – age range and optional everyday details for tailoring plan structure (e.g., timing or portions). We do not ask for or store medical conditions, diagnoses, or treatment information.
- Device & Usage – app version, device model/OS, crash logs, and basic analytics events (no precise geolocation or contact lists).
We do not collect or use medical histories (e.g., diabetes, hypertension) or other clinical records. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted ads.
How we use data
- Generate general wellness meal ideas and schedules using non-medical preferences you provide.
- Suggest locally relevant ingredients and show available product information for awareness.
- Provide customer support, fix bugs, maintain safety, and prevent spam/fraud.
- Improve the Services (feature development, quality checks, limited/aggregated analytics).
- Send essential service messages (e.g., plan ready). Marketing messages, if any, are opt-in.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
AI processing
To prepare plan and recipe text, limited prompts may be processed by vetted AI providers acting as processors. We share only what’s necessary (e.g., general preferences, language, and region) and do not include medical diagnoses. Where available, we disable provider data retention for model training and require confidentiality and security safeguards.
Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
- Contract to deliver the Services you request (account and plan generation).
- Consent for optional features such as notifications or analytics.
- Legitimate Interests for security, debugging, and product improvement (balanced against your rights).
- Legal Obligation for required record-keeping and compliance.
App permissions we request
- Location (approx.) – to suggest region-appropriate foods (optional; can be disabled).
Security
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest where applicable.
- Restricted employee access on a need-to-know basis.
- Segregated environments, logging, and periodic reviews.
No system is 100% secure; please keep your device and credentials safe.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the Services and meet legal obligations. You can request account deletion at any time (see “Your rights”). Generated plans and PDFs are stored for your access; you can delete them in the app.
Your privacy rights
- Access, correct, update, or delete your data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent (for analytics or marketing) without affecting prior lawful processing.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Complain to your local data protection authority if you believe your rights were infringed.

California (CPRA) users: you may request to know, correct, or delete personal information. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We limit use of any sensitive categories to what is necessary to provide the Services.
Children’s privacy
LivaMeal is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We may process and store data in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. We will post the updated policy in the app and update the “Last updated” date above. If changes materially affect your rights, we will provide additional notice and ask for consent where required.
