iKontacts – Privacy Policy

1) Summary

• iKontacts helps you export WhatsApp contacts, manage privacy on WhatsApp Web, and optionally use AI tools.
• All core processing happens locally in your browser.
• We do not upload your contacts, chats, or messages to our servers.
• iKontacts is not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp Inc.

2) What Data We Process

• Contact names, numbers, and group details visible on WhatsApp Web (read locally).
• Settings and preferences stored in chrome.storage.
• Export files you choose to download (CSV, VCF, Excel, etc.).
• Optional AI prompts only when you explicitly use AI features.

We do not collect: passwords, OTPs, private media, background browsing history, or personal identifiers.

3) Privacy Mode (Local-Only Protection)

iKontacts includes a built-in Privacy Mode designed to protect your screen and content visibility in shared or public environments.

• Blur features: chat previews, messages, media thumbnails, names, numbers, and profile pictures.
• Boss Key: instantly hide WhatsApp Web content using a keyboard shortcut.
• Auto-Lock: automatically hide content after a period of inactivity.
• Reveal on Hover: temporarily reveal blurred content when you hover.

All Privacy Mode features operate entirely on your device. No screenshots, messages, or visibility states are transmitted or stored remotely.

4) AI Features (Optional)

• AI tools are disabled by default.
• If enabled, only the text you select is sent directly to your chosen AI provider.
• Your API key is stored locally and never sent to iKontacts servers.
• AI usage is governed by the provider’s own privacy policy.

5) Storage & Retention

• Settings and limits are stored locally in your browser.
• Exported files remain wherever you save them.
• We do not retain copies of your contacts or chats.

6) Sharing & Disclosure

• No selling of personal data.
• No advertising trackers.
• Payments are handled by trusted payment processors; we receive only entitlement confirmation.

7) Security

• Local-first design minimizes data exposure.
• Secure HTTPS is used for external services.
• You are responsible for securing exported files.

8) Your Choices

• Enable or disable features at any time.
• Clear settings via extension options or browser storage.
• Uninstall the extension to stop all processing.

9) Children’s Privacy

iKontacts is not intended for children and should not be used by individuals under the legal age of consent.

10) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date.
